How do I get to Holden Beach?

Holden Beach is approximately 1 hour from both Wilmington, NC and Myrtle Beach SC.  There are direct flights from multiple locations to each of the airports.  After getting to Wilmington or Myrtle Beach, it is a scenic drive to the island.

Do you allow pets on the property?

​

Yes!  We understand that a lot of people travel with their pets, and we do allow up to 2 dogs as long as each are under 45 pounds and well behaved.  There is a non-refundable fee of $500 to bring your pet to the beach house.

What is there to do in Holden Beach?

​

Holden Beach is very different from the busy shores of Myrtle Beach down the road.  Holden Beach has no large hotels or condominium complexes.  It is a place to relax and unwind.  The beach will rarely be crowded, and the town is quiet.  If you are looking for entertainment or more activities, Myrtle Beach or Wrightsville Beach would be more your speed.  That being said, if you like walking on the soft sand of the Atlantic, or listening to the crash of the waves, this is the place for you.  Holden Beach is renowned for it's variety of seashells and shark teeth which are found directly in front of the house.

What do I need to bring?

​

We provide linens, beach towels, appliances and cookware.  You need to bring paper towels, toilet tissue, charcoal briquets for the BBQ, beach chairs and any sand toys you would need.

How is the water?

​

It's not the best or worst I've ever had.  The water is supplied by the town of Holden Beach, and it is reliably safe to drink.  I typically use the filtered water from the fridge, but the tap is fine.  If you are very sensitive to tastes, you might be better bringing bottled water.

How much parking is there?

​

Public parking is extremely limited on the entire island.  Our house has parking for approximately 5 vehicles.
